Let Us Make Man

Traces of the Holy Trinity can be seen from the beginning of creation. While it is humanly impossible to fully understand the Trinity, we can take note of the plurality of the verb “ποιήσωμεν”, found in the Septuagint, or better known as the LXX in Genesis 1:26. This is also plural in the Hebrew text as well. ποιήσωμεν in English means to make. God said, “Let Us make man in Our image”. Have you ever noticed that in some translations the words Us and Our are capitalized?
In the past while reading Genesis 1:26 I have thought to myself, who is God talking to? We are not made in the image of angels; we are made in the image of God. Nor are we spirits; we are made of flesh. An interesting thing to think about is that God is Spirit, so whose image are we made? There is no other answer but Jesus Christ. For God is Spirit and the Glory of the Father is seen in The Son Jesus Christ. In Colossians 1:15 Paul tells us that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God. Clearly none of us are invisible either. The Son is the radiance of Gods Glory, the exact representation of His nature. Truly Truly by the Grace and Love of our Father we can see the Glory of God by looking upon Jesus the Messiah.
And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
